MOULINS MODERNES AL NAJJAR ET. CO. – شركة مطاحن النجار الحديثة

We are a bulk producer of Lebanese Wheat and Burgul, Kishek, Thyme and Hydrosols with all raw materials cultivated in Lebanon, specifically the Bekaa valley.

DID YOU KNOW?

We are a bulk producer of Lebanese Wheat and Burgul, Kishek, Thyme and Hydrosols with all raw materials cultivated in Lebanon, specifically the Bekaa valley. Our company has been a leader in food products specifically grains, pulses, nuts, spices and natural herbs since 1944.

WHAT’S THE INNOVATION?

Our company has determined a method to produce Burgul and Wheat that preserves their identity and quality, making them similar to what our ancestors used to produce by manual production. We expanded our production capacity, while preserving the same quality of Burgul, differentiating it from the commercial quality Burgul that is available in the Lebanese market.

WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE INNOVATION?

Our company was established by our grandfather in 1944, where they used to produce Wheat and Burgul manually by hand. We have preserved the production method, transforming the manual production to almost fully automatic, while preserving the same quality. We also use 100% Lebanese grown and cultivated Wheat from the Bekaa valley. We have seen how the Lebanese market has shifted towards commercial quality Burgul, lowering its quality and producing it using imported wheat. This is why we have followed strict rules with our production process, making our Burgul and Wheat stand out in the market.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Unfortunately the Lebanese market has shifted its focus towards commercial quality burgul, with 90% of the companies producing it from imported Wheat. The dependence on imported wheat weakens our agricultural strength, where Wheat cultivation in Lebanon has seen significant drops over the past years. With our focus on Lebanese Wheat only, we have encouraged several farmers to continue the cultivation process, with increasing demand of Lebanese grown products which are of higher quality, yield more product and offer a higher nutritional value compared to imported Wheat.

WHO IS BENEFITTING?

Direct retail customers, restaurants, catering services and people who value authentic Lebanese products produced from locally cultivated raw materials.
