“Mounir Bissat Factories” grew from a primitive production unit, employing five workers and producing output of 500kg\day, to a very well-established factory situated in the heart of the industrial zone of the city of Sidon, occupying more than 2000 m2 of production and warehousing facilities, and producing approximately 1200 tons\year of different products. The company has maintained an excellent quality in a very traditional industry without neglecting the technological evolution in machinery and other means of production.

Al Sanabel brand is a new product of the latest production line at Mounir Bissat Factories. This new line uses modern technology in processing sesame, which ensures a significant reduction in operation costs.

WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE INNOVATION?

Halawa is a traditional Levantine food product very well known in the region extending from Lebanon to Syria, Jordan, Egypt, GCC, and even Turkey and Greece, where is the actual origin of this product. Halawa is a sweet fudge, made of sugar Syrup and Tahina and some aromas and natural flavors. It can be used as a full meal or a sweet dessert. This 100 years+ product is becoming less appealing to the younger generations, although it is still popular and demanded by the older ones. In order to attract this customer segment (3-18 years), and increase the sales of this product, Mounir Bissat Factories will be working on developing new products such as Halawa spread, Halawa bars, Halawa Cotton Candy, and Tahina sauces in squeezable jars, in an attempt to attain these objectives.
