DID YOU KNOW?
YY ReGen is one of the few Lebanese companies bridging food and energy innovation, producing certified organic food while deploying rentable solar PV units that power farms and rural communities without diesel.
WHAT’S THE INNOVATION?
YY ReGen integrates sustainable agriculture with decentralized renewable energy. Through ReGen-R8, we provide portable, rentable solar PV units that farmers can access with zero upfront investment. Alongside this, we produce high-value organic food powered by clean energy, creating a circular model that connects energy access, food security, and rural resilience.
WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE INNOVATION?
Born during Lebanon’s energy crisis, YY ReGen responded to farmers and cooperatives struggling with diesel costs and unreliable power. We created ReGen-R8 to offer immediate, affordable solar access while building our own organic production model powered by clean energy to prove the concept.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Lebanon’s agriculture sector depends heavily on diesel, making farmers vulnerable to fuel price shocks and supply shortages. Our model reduces operating costs, stabilizes production, and lowers carbon emissions. By combining renewable energy with organic farming, we strengthen food security and create resilient rural economies. This integrated approach supports sustainable value chains and accelerates the green transition in the agri-food sector.
WHO IS BENEFITTING?
Farmers and rural cooperatives gain reliable, clean energy while saving up to 50% in operating costs compared to diesel generators. Each ReGen-R8 unit reduces approximately 18 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, lowering environmental impact. Consumers benefit from sustainably powered organic production, while rural communities experience stronger economic resilience and cleaner air.
