On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, QOOT Cluster and the Syndicate of Lebanese Food Industrialists (SLFI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ministry of Industry (MoI) with the esteemed presence and support of the Minister of Industry. This MoU marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts to enhance and promote Lebanon’s agrifood industry.
The primary objectives of this partnership are multifaceted, focusing on joint events and initiatives, promotion and marketing, innovation and sustainability, and capacity building. These objectives are designed to strengthen the visibility and market reach of Lebanese agrifood products both locally and internationally.
Joint Events and Initiatives
One of the immediate priorities under this MoU is the collaboration on events, trade shows, and other initiatives that promote Lebanon’s agrifood industry, with a particular focus on SIAL Paris 2024. In addition, the MoU outlines plans to develop and implement joint projects that enhance the visibility and market reach of Lebanese agrifood products, ensuring a robust presence in the global market.
Promotion and Marketing
QOOT Cluster and SLFI will work together to promote Lebanese agrifood products through various marketing channels and platforms. By sharing expertise, both organizations aim to enhance the marketing strategies for these products, ensuring they reach a wider audience and gain greater recognition.
Innovation and Sustainability
Supporting innovation in the agrifood sector is a key component of this MoU. QOOT Cluster and SLFI will engage in collaborative research and development projects to drive innovation. Furthermore, they will promote sustainable practices within the industry, aligning with global standards and trends to ensure a sustainable future for Lebanese agrifood.
Capacity Building
Capacity building is another critical area of focus. The MoU includes plans to organize workshops, seminars, and training programs aimed at building the capacity of agrifood industry stakeholders. This will facilitate knowledge exchange and the sharing of best practices among members of both organizations.
First Collaborative Initiative: SIAL Paris 2024
The first major initiative under this MoU is the joint representation of Lebanon at SIAL Paris 2024. QOOT and SLFI will showcase a combined total of 15 companies (9 from QOOT Cluster and 6 from SLFI) within a 144sqm space at the event. SIAL Paris, one of the world’s premier international exhibitions, will be held from October 19th to 23rd at the Parc des Expositions Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris, France.
This MoU signifies a new era of collaboration between QOOT Cluster and SLFI, promising substantial advancements for Lebanon’s agrifood industry through shared efforts and strategic initiatives.
