QOOT Cluster Christmas Gathering: Uniting Agri-Food Innovators

The festive season brought warmth, joy, and togetherness as Lebanon’s Agri-Food Innovation Cluster, QOOT Cluster, hosted its annual Christmas Gathering on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the vibrant Round Two in Baouchrieh, Beirut. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the year’s achievements, foster stronger bonds among members, and look ahead to a brighter and more prosperous tomorrow. This spirit of unity and collaboration was evident as QOOT members came together for an evening filled with good vibes, meaningful conversations, and a shared sense of purpose.

Mrs. Nadine El Khoury, the Cluster President, emphasized the unique culture of support within the QOOT Cluster, where members actively assist each other—whether by sharing resources like warehouses and machinery, or by collaborating on trade missions.

“Our strength as a cluster lies in our adaptability and the way we transform challenges into opportunities through collaboration.” Mrs. Nadine El Khoury

She also extended her gratitude to the QOOT Team and board members for their dedication and commitment, emphasizing that their collective efforts are key to achieving the cluster’s ultimate vision: building a stronger Lebanon by empowering its economy through Agri-Food innovation.

Moreover, Dr. Marc Bou Zeidan, QOOT Cluster Executive Director, reflected on the remarkable achievements of 2024, despite Lebanon’s challenges, and praised the unwavering dedication of QOOT’s members.

“I am proud that we can come together as members, partners, academics, and industry leaders. This gathering offers a chance to strengthen trust and build connections as we move forward together,” Dr. Marc Bou Zeidan stated.

Dr. Marc Bou Zeidan, highlighted several key accomplishments during the year 2024, including hosting the Second Agri-Food Innovation Award (AFIA), organizing the Lebanese pavilion at SIAL with 16 companies, facilitating participation in the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE) with 10 companies, and proudly leading the largest pavilion at HORECA, which featured 28 companies.

“These achievements are a testament to our resilience and innovation, and we promise that 2025 will bring even greater accomplishments.” Dr. Marc Bou Zeidan

He also introduced the cluster’s new partnership with Land O Lakes Venture 37 under the USAID program, a five-year initiative aimed at enhancing market access for members and making a significant impact on the Agri-Food ecosystem.

A Shared Commitment to Success

As attendees shared stories, ideas, and laughter, the evening underscored the unique role QOOT Cluster plays in fostering a supportive ecosystem for Agri-Food entrepreneurs and businesses. The gathering served as a reminder that, even in challenging times, a united community can achieve remarkable accomplishments.

In every aspect, the QOOT Cluster Christmas Gathering captured the spirit of celebration, collaboration, and shared success. It not only marked the joyful holiday season but also stood as a powerful affirmation of the thriving Agri-Food community in Lebanon, united in its commitment to excellence, innovation, and a brighter future.
