Since the beginning of time, the Bekaa Valley received tribute from those who entered the fertile land and it is where the Romans chose to build one of the biggest jewels of Lebanon – The Temple of Bacchus – holding within its walls praises of love and the secrets of winemaking.

Knowledge and sensitivity, are the primary qualities of a good winemaker. Château St Thomas is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, they use the latest technologies with state-of-the-art equipment for their fermentation and preservation process. The 100 years of tradition in winemaking places Château St Thomas as a qualified producer earning more than 80 renowned awards.

The noble grapes varieties cultivated (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Cinsault, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc) as well as the local indigenous grape variety, Obeidy, are accustomed to the climate conditions and geological characteristics of the Bekaa valley.

The winery estate was fully inherited by the family in 1888, and Château St Thomas supports the inclusion and diversity of women in its winemaking process, a fact the majority at Château St Thomas are women.

WHAT’S THE INNOVATION?

Château St Thomas aims to innovate and stay up to date on developing new products and experimenting with their vineyards. Their signature wine is their single-variety grape, Obeidy, local indigenous grape variety, and Pinot Noir, obtained a Gold Medal for Pinot Noir St Thomas 2014 in Citadelles du Vin 2018 in Bordeaux.
