Café Abi Nasr was established in 1956 by Rafic Abic Nasr as a small shop. Few years ago, Café Abi Nasr started to expand their product line, including a new brand of Lebanese coffee – Morena Café, Prestigio espresso, and the Western Cup – American Coffee.

They are working on the Prestigio Espresso – an organic plant-based coffee capsule, as well as the Western Cup Brewed in the bag single origin filter coffee.

WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE INNOVATION?

A couple of years ago, Café Abi Nasr decided to shift to a more eco-friendly approach and started selling the Prestigio Espresso capsules, made entirely from sugarcane and sugar beet, meaning that under certain conditions the capsules will fully breakdown into compost, unlike traditional capsules that are made from aluminum, leaving a toxic trail after disposal.

They also brought the Western Cup Brew in the Bag filter coffee, a unique brew-in-the-bag concept allowing coffee lovers to enjoy freshly brewed coffee on every occasion. It is an organic, Fairtrade, and hand-roasted gourmet coffee that fits the “on the go” lifestyle.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

It is important for customers to know that they can have a guilt-free cup of coffee every day, without contributing to the pollution around us. In addition, they can enjoy and have their BIB coffee anywhere without the hassle of a machine.

All of their products are BPA free and meet the highest standards for food safety. The Coffee brewer does not contain any aluminum or other damaging materials and can be disposed of in the normal garbage system along with milk cartons, etc.
