QOOT Cluster Officer

Maria Zino joined Berytech in January 2024 as a QOOT cluster officer. She supports coordinating and implementing various activities associated with program execution. Maria oversees and assists in managing events and ensures a smooth development along the course of the program.
Maria holds a degree in Agriculture Engineering from Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), where she grew her passion for agriculture into knowledge and expertise. Along with her education, she hands-on applied her academic proficiency to experience across diverse sectors, making sure to always self-evolve and become a useful source in her field of work.
Her thrive and enthusiasm led her to start working on EU projects in cooperation with expertise France, ICON Institute consulting Grupp, Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Zahle, ESFD (Lebanese Council for Development of Reconstruction), Landell Mills, and the American University of Beirut. Her work contributed to supporting two main value chains in the Bekaa Valley, Cherry and Grapes. As well, at the American University of Beirut, her research in addition to her fieldwork, were mainly addressing the agricultural pollution in the Litani River Basin, which resulted in major research outputs that can be lifesaving.
Maria finds pleasure in learning new languages because it introduces her to new cultures and improves her ability to multi-task. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog in nature, reading, and hosting family and friends over.
