Joining Forces to Transform Lebanon’s Sustainable Agrifood Sector: UNICEF’s Generation of Innovation Leaders Programme (GIL) and QOOT Cluster.

It’s going to transform Lebanon’s agrifood industry!
A strategic partnership between UNICEF Lebanon and QOOT Cluster in the context of the Agrifood Innovation Award (AFIA) 2024 the AFIA praises Lebanon’s Agrifood manufacturers, aiming at recognizing ground-breaking innovations in the Lebanese Agrifood sector.

By supporting Innovative Agrifood Businesses, a more powerful and inclusive agrifood ecosystem in Lebanon can be achieved through the combined efforts of these organizations.

This will help the country’s agrifood industry thrive and grow.

Beyond the AFIA primary scope of recognizing innovations among SMEs, the partnership with UNICEF Lebanon opens the doors for young entrepreneurs and businesses promoting environmentally friendly practices.

The Lebanese agrifood innovation cluster, QOOT Cluster, throughout the AFIA and other initiatives, provides knowledge, tools, and access to global markets to businesses in the agrifood sector.

“We at QOOT Cluster believe in the power of collaboration to drive positive change,” remarked Engineer Nadine El Khoury, President of the Board of QOOT Cluster, “With UNICEF, we’re striving to elevate Lebanon’s agrifood sector, making it more youth-driven, innovative, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable.”

The Green Award will be introduced by UNICEF to acknowledge young producers who place a priority on sustainability; locally sourced ingredients, resource-efficient, and/or socially impactful processes, along with other eco-friendly approaches such as reducing plastic use, decreasing food waste, and implementing renewable energy solutions, will be highlighted through this award.””

This partnership will help Lebanon’s agrifood producers and young entrepreneurs establish themselves as industry leaders in sustainability while also boosting their businesses.

UNICEF’s Generation of Innovation Leaders Programme aims at supporting young entrepreneurs in accessing resources that help them develop their skills, improve their livelihoods, and ultimately shape their own future.

The GIL – Generation of Innovation Leaders Programme is funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Lebanon.

''With UNICEF, remarked Engineer Nadine El Khoury, President of the Board of QOOT Cluster we're striving to elevate Lebanon's agrifood sector, making it more youth-driven, innovative, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable."
